Даррен Шахлави

Darren Shahlavi hails originally from Stockport, UK. Training in martial arts since the age of 7, Darren went to Hong Kong in the early 90’s to make movies. At first appearing as a stuntman/extra, he would soon rise up the ranks of Hong Kong cinema as he played the main villain in Yuen Wo-Ping’s final Hong Kong film (as director) to date, Tai Chi II. In 1996, he was appraoched by Seasonal Films to play the main villain in what I consider one of the best Hong Kong-choreographed American films made, Bloodmoon. Three superkickers, Darren, Gary Daniels, and Chuck Jeffreys, get to show off their aamzing kicking skills and stunts in the film. Darren would make the switch from villain to hero with 1998’s Hostile Environment with Matthias Hues. In 2000, Darren starred in a horror film titled Legion of the Dead and making more action films. In 2002, Darren will be appearing in the Eddie Murphy-Owen Wilson starrer I Spy as well as another horror film titled Beyond the Limits. Recently, Darren has been making more A-list projects but in more supporting roles.
